Job Details: Our client are looking for another Vet to join their team. They are looking for someone to contribute to their After-Hours Roster and ease the after-hours commitments for their team. They strive for a 1-in-6 OOH roster or better throughout the year, apart from 10-12 weeks in Spring where they have two Vets on-call, but can be flexible in the on-call frequency desired. They also have a Veterinary Nurse on-call over the weekend to assist with emergencies and in-patient care during the busier Spring period.
Outside of the spring calving period, after-hours work is generally quiet and predominantly companion animals/working dogs. They do see and manage surgical cases out of hours.
This clinic has provided professional and affordable veterinary care to the Western Southland region for over 20 years. They are an independent practice committed to providing a wide range of services, sound advice and a high level of veterinary care. They are a genuine mixed practice with around 75% of their work large animal, predominantly Dairy, and 25% Companion animal.
A veterinary qualification eligible for registration with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand is essential, and because you would be working by yourself, some experience is necessary. The qualities that are particularly important to them are:
- Good communication and people skills to aid with a smooth patient handover
- Able to work with a variety of species
- A team player with good sense of humour!
