Salary: £30,000 - £45,000, depending with experience

Package: Accommodation and a vehicle, or car allowance, are provided. CPD is encouraged and fully funded. A competitive salary is offered with a performance related bonus and workplace pension. The practice also offer a staff pet care discount scheme! AVSPNI and VDS memberships are included plus 6 weeks annual holiday.

Job Details: Due to the continued expansion of this well established, independent, mixed practice they are now seeking a new full or part time Veterinary Surgeon to complement their team. (Working options will be discussed to suit you). They are looking for a good team player to join their 9 vet team where you will well supported in working towards your interests. There is the opportunity here to work on a 50:50 caseload or more towards small or large, depending on what you are interested in, if you wish. 

This is a 4 site mixed practice but you would be predominantly based in one location. The caseload is 50:50 small:large with a good mix of beef, dairy, sheep and horses giving you an excellent variety in your day. The practice offers clinical freedom with excellent support through their mentoring programme in a friendly, happy working environment.

Located in a beautiful coastal area of Co. Antrim, you will be working in some fantastic locations with views for days, with the additional benefit of being just a short commute to Belfast and 2 ferry ports/2 airports. The location also creates a wide range of activities to do in your spare time. 

The practice is very well equipped, with competent and helpful support staff and are also a Vet Nurse training centre - they are also very proud to have the holder of The Agria Award for Nursing Auxiliary of the year in N Ireland within their team!

The out of hours rota is 1 in 6, with quiet nights on the whole. Your on call could be on a set night each week, allowing you a more favourable work life balance. You would get a half day on the Friday after your weekend on call and through the week you have 2 hours off before your night on and a late start the morning after.
