Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
Package: Vehicle Available, VDS cover, £1000 CPD budget (no real set budget, as long as it is relevant to the practice), 20 days holidays plus bank holidays, mobile phone for business use and a 6 month pay review. No accommodation available however the practice would provide support to find your own accommodation.
Type of Work: Poultry Vet Surgeon required for a fantastic and supportive, independent practice. 2+ years experience required but new or recent graduates with clear experience and study in this area are welcome to apply.
Job Details: Fifteen-vet independent mixed practice (80% farm) looking for the right veterinary surgeon to join their growing poultry team. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-6pm. There is flexibility on hours with capacity to answer phone calls for guidance if needed at weekend (rota). No OOH rota for small/large animals. If you have 2 years experience, or are a keen new/recent graduate and are interested in focusing on this field then this is the perfect opportunity!

This practice have a large poultry and game bird client base focussing on meat, table egg and game production, both intensive and free range. This new position offers the opportunity to become involved at all stages, advising on disease prevention strategies, health planning, management and covering audit requirements. The team believe that excellent service is key to the success of our practice and its clients, to enable them to thrive in competitive markets. Experience is preferred and enthusiasm is essential - support and training will be given to the right candidate.
They look after commercial poultry farms in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Scotland, taking pride in giving a personal service to every farm and believe that farm visits are a crucial part of effective consultancy. They also offer a drop off service, where clients can drop off samples at the practice for post-mortem examinations, faecal worm egg and coccidial oocyst counts, enabling effective treatment to be started promptly pending further diagnostic tests.
Located in a market town just 20 minutes from York and in the middle of beautiful countryside – the Yorkshire Moors and The Howardian Hills, but it is close to main road and rail networks, in a modern, new, purpose built premises.
