They expect their Veterinary Surgeons to make animal welfare the first consideration when providing the most appropriate attention to the animals in their care. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and medicine with practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery. They like to keep every day as varied as possible with the appropriate mix of duties. The role is full time, you will be required to work 42 hours per week, over 4 to 5 days including every other Saturday morning. Shifts are between 8.30am and 6.30pm, in line with business needs. There are no out-of-hours or Bank Holiday shifts included. However, they are opening to considering part time patterns and do have flexible working agreements on offer for those who have more specific needs. You should have the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of preventative health plans. You will have the ability to prioritise, delegate, and make challenging decisions and be an avid team player and support your colleagues. They need a problem-solving Vet who can effectively manage their time. They need you to be able to remain calm under pressure yet be assertive and patient when required. They ask you to have a positive can-do attitude and be passionate about your work. A driving license is preferred but not essential.
