Type of Work: Small Animal Vet Surgeon

Job Details: Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The role will involve a mix of consulting and surgery, within one of their 6 clinics. There may be some movement between branches, but branch continuity is prioritised to limit travel and allow you to build your own relationships with their clients. They require an experienced confident, enthusiastic vet, with previous sole charge experience and the ability to fully work up a full range of medical and surgical cases. They have a clear focus on client communication and a desire to provide the best care possible for both patients and owners. Teamwork and excellence in clinical care should be high on their agenda.

They are ideally situated with easy road access to the coast, London and Stansted airport. They have a fantastic friendly team of Vets, dedicated qualified Nurses, and support staff, with a wide range of interests. The team includes Vets who are already certificate holders or are working towards their qualifications, in surgery, medicine, cardiology, and advanced general practice. They have excellent surgical and medical facilities with separate dog and cat wards and boast a comprehensive surgical kit that you would expect from a hospital standard clinic. They can offer an interesting and varied caseload, a generous salary, an attractive holiday, and CPD package with encouragement and support given to undertake further qualifications. Additionally, health insurance and enhanced maternity pay over and above statutory rates are provided. Being a host clinic for Vets Now enables patient continuity and excellent patient support on-site.

The rota involves working 41 hours over 4 days a week between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm. They are a host practice for VetsNow so no out of hours cover is required. They run an overlap service for emergencies only for their clients at weekends, from when they close on a Saturday at 2:00pm to 5.00pm and on a Sunday from 8:00am to 5:00 pm. This is based on a 1:9 rota. There is also a Saturday morning consult session, based on a 1: 3 to 4 basis.

You will have good all-round practice skills in the areas of consulting and surgery, with the ability to work sole charge when required. Any additional skills would be very welcomed. You must have excellent customer care focus and appreciate the importance of good communication with their stakeholders.
