You will get the opportunity to operate every day as well as carry out consultations. They are looking for a candidate with a surgical bias to complement the rest of their veterinary team. They are a small practice, which allows for good case continuity and the opportunity to develop productive relationships with clients. They are happy to consider full or part time applicants, their rota provides a good work life balance, there would be 1 in 3 or 4 Saturday mornings, occasional sole charge and no on call. They are a well-respected single site practice with a good local reputation - a lot of new clients find them by word of mouth. They are proud to be a silver accredited ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic. The practice is well-equipped with recently upgraded digital x-ray facilities (including dental), ultrasound, Idexx blood machines and separate dog and cat wards. They are lucky to have a nice spacious building close to local amenities. They are located in Hertfordshire, with swift mainline train links to London and is conveniently placed for both the A1(M) and the M25. There is onsite parking and close local amenities such as food outlets + an ALDI supermarket. The small and friendly team of part- and full-time staff is comprised of 4 vets, 4 RVNs and 2 SVNs as well as 5 reception/administrative staff. They are a Training Practice and are really invested in the development of their own SVNs as well as vet students on EMS as this is so important for the future of the profession. This role would suit an RCVS registered vet with a surgical bias who is confident with routine surgical and dental procedures as well as non-routine soft tissue surgery (with orthopaedics a plus). They want you to be a motivated team player who shares their values of providing good quality care to their clients and patients, with the ability to offer flexible treatment options as needed. They would welcome a certificate holder or a candidate who is working towards a surgical certificate, but this is not essential.
