Job Details: Our client is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. Duties will include consulting and operating but this will differ throughout the working week to allow for variety.

Wood Street is based in a busy location with tube lines going into London. They have another branch where you may be required to work when needed. They are a busy 24-hour hospital with a varied caseload. They have fantastic facilities including x-rays, dental x-rays, laparoscopic equipment, hydrotherapy, a full range of endoscopes, and ultrasonography.

They currently have a team of 15 Veterinary Surgeons, 17 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 7 Veterinary Care Assitant's, a Reception Team, and a Practice Manager. The Vets hold certificates in cardiology, Surgery, and Small Animal Internal Medicine. The nurses also have certificates in Anaesthesia, ECC, and Exotics.

The rota will involve working 42.5 hours per week over 4 days:
Example of the rota:

  • The shifts range anywhere between 8:30am-7:30pm.
  • 1in6 Saturday mornings
  • 1in6 full weekends (8am-6pm) - This is likely to be less frequent.
  • One week of nights every 8-10 weeks

Branch work will also be required.

They are looking for a qualified Veterinary Surgeon who has experience being in sole charge with a Nurse or Veterinary Care Assistant. The candidate must also be experienced working in a hospital environment.
