Type of Work: Small Animal Vet Surgeon

Job Details: Our client is looking for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team of 3 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 student nurse and 3 client care assistants. As an established and growing practice they have a loyal client base and the interesting, varied caseload that comes with this.  The lead vet has a surgery certificate and they regularly welcome visiting ultrasound and cardiology specialists. This means most of their case workups can and are done in-house offering excellent case continuity and an amazing opportunity to develop your own clinical interests.

Colleague well-being is a priority.  They have a zero-tolerance policy against rude and abusive clients- they rarely need to use it, in fact they are on first name terms with most of their clients, but it is important that their team feel supported.  The routine consults are 15 minutes, but they understand that some things just take longer- there’s a lot to discuss when doing 1st vaccinations - so offer double appointments for these and other non-routine consults such as blood tests and euthanasia’s.

Whether you’re looking for part-time or full-time hours, want to do both consults and surgery or just consults- get in touch as they understand the need for flexibility. All they ask is that you take part in their weekend rota which is currently 1:3. They are open 7 days a week and there is no OOH requirement.  Some experience will be an advantage as occasional sole charge is required.

The well-equipped stand- alone practice is in a beautiful market town in West Yorkshire and yes, the town. Being close to cities, such as Leeds, Bradford and Manchester, provides excellent transport links.  They are also located close to stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Joining this friendly team will give an experienced vet a great opportunity to develop their career- whether that be clinically, with certification actively encouraged, or through partnership which will be considered for the right candidate.
