Job Details: Our Client are looking for a Clinical Nursing Manager to join their forward thinking, fast-paced hospital on a full-time basis. 

This is an RCVS Accredited, RCVS Emergency Clinic, ISFM Gold & RAW Silver practice, with an extremely experienced team of 67 colleagues, that include ECC, Medicine, Surgical & Dental Certificate Holders in both their Vet & Nurse teams.

Our Client are extremely proud to be running both a 24/7 OOH/Referral Hospital and a thriving first-opinion business within the same site. This enables them to provide highly supportive, educational opportunities for both veterinary surgeons and RVNs at all stages in their careers (i.e. from graduation to internships/referral experience). Plus provide their clients with fully comprehensive facilities, expertise, and help with all stages of their pets needs.

To do this effectively, they have invested heavily in team support, education, and management, resulting in a current management team of nine. This current vacancy is to replace the current Clinical Nurse Manager who is moving on to further their career development in the industry, take over their existing responsibilities, and facilitate the hospitals third phase of development (Including a 2022 structural extensions, launch of SVN school, and the business expansion of both clinical/consulting services to their clients).

The main purpose of this job is the organisation of current day and night nursing teams, currently at 15 RVNs, 5 SVNs (soon to grow to 9), 8 VCAs. Emphasis on smooth running, optimising workflow, to ensure the best standard of patient care. To be a line manager for the nursing team who will drive colleagues to consistently perform at their highest ability. You will hold monthly meetings and individual appraisals as appropriate and encourage ongoing development and areas of suggested improvement with both individuals and the practice. You would manage and comply with Health & Safety Regulations and local policy at the hospital. Work with the Hospital Manager to improve protocols where necessary and deliver training for implementation of best practice. You must be able to understand customers needs, to support provision of high-quality professional service to clients. You will support the Client Service Manager, and Finance Manager with client complaints. You will be a clinical role model (Nursing or Vet) within the practice, alongside students to assist teaching of clinical skills, supervise, and evaluate progress throughout their course and support current in-house clinical coaches. Support the Hospital Manager with long-term development of the Hospital, creating a positive working environment with massive focus of team member morale and support network.

This role is 40 hours per week, heavily administrative and people management in focus (with both veterinary clinical and technical experience a must). This role requires 1:4 weekends, flexibility in workings shifts (potentially spanning 8.30am - 8.30pm weekdays, and flexibility to work occasional nights (i.e. when night team training, SOP optimisation and colleague 1-2-1s may be required.

Our Client are open to applications from Veterinary Surgeons, or RVNs with a passion for veterinary hospital & people management (no practical clinical work required in this role) they are also open to applications from strong, experienced people managers (preferably with knowledge/experience in the veterinary industry)
