Type of Work: Locum Veterinary Surgeon

Job Details: Our Client are looking for a locum to help cover holidays and support their team to get through the busy summer months. They are looking for a locum to start at the end of April/beginning of May through until October but would consider short periods and a trial period before committing to a longer stint.

They are a friendly 6 site Small Animal practice based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border just 10 miles from the beautiful East Anglian coastline. Their main surgery has good rail links to London. They are a modern, well-equipped first opinion practice with on-site CT Scanner, high quality ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, K-laser therapy, dental suite, and dental radiography. Their 5 branch practices are in the surrounding towns with one site being situated within the City of Norwich. The Norwich site has ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental equipment, and perform routine surgeries twice a week as well as running consults. The other branches are consult only.

Our client are mainly looking for help to cover some of their branch work which would be ideal for someone looking for a consulting only position. Support is always on hand from their experienced vets and nurses and they can accommodate a role which allows the candidate to operate as well if this is something they are comfortable with. They use local OOH providers so there is no OOHs and there would be no night work or weekend shifts required. Ideally, they are looking for someone to work a 4 day week 36-40 hours depending on preference. Flexible working/part-time hours could be considered. They have a 1 hour lunch break and regular scheduled breaks/admin time throughout the day. 15 minute consults as standard with 30 minutes booked for complex cases, euthanasias, and blood samples etc. Their PMS system is Merlin which is very similar to Voyager and is incredibly easy to use/learn. They cannot provide accommodation but this could be reflected in the day rate.
