Job Details: Our Client in Surrey is searching for a Locum Small Animal Vet Surgeon to work in their practice in the last week of July, August, & September. Minimum 3 years experience.
Ideally 4 days per week 08:30 - 19:00 (1 shift 08:00 - 17:00). Can bring your dog but would need to be in a kennel.
There are 3 Vet Shifts that you will carry out over the 4 day working week:
- Shift 1: 8:00am-5:00pm, (last appointment is at 4:30pm). This is a consulting shift with scheduled breaks AM, lunch, and PM
- Shift 2/3: 8:30am-7:00pm (last consult is at 6:30pm). This is split between consults and surgery shifts with scheduled breaks.
Weekends are 1:6 on a rota basis. Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm. 1:6 Saturdays 8:00am-4:00pm.
Our client work on a rolling 6-week rota, your scheduled days off following your weekend are Friday and Monday which gives you a 4-day weekend every 6 weeks. OOH is transferred to Vets now at 5:00pm on weekends and 9:00pm on weekdays. Our Client provide 24-hour patient care on-site.
This is a small and fast-paced small animal hospital, with great links to the M25 and M3 and the beautiful Windsor Great Park on their doorstep. There is parking on-site
They have excellent facilities, including separate dog and cat wards and waiting areas, 3 consult rooms, ICU, theatre, dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and full in-house lab plus everything else you would need or expect a hospital to have. They love what they do, and are very good at it.
The day starts with a regular ward round where case management is discussed and a clear plan for the day is established. Our client have a fully staffed strong and experienced nursing team made up of 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and an Animal Nursing Assistant, (they have a dedicated Nurse Trainer and 2 Night Nurses), that ensure the best patient care is received. They have a fully staffed reception team ensuring that the practice runs smoothly, and nurses are able to nurse. They also have an accounts and admin team to make sure things get done. Our Client also host visiting referral surgeons when required for more complicated surgical cases.
