Job Details: This practice is seeking a full-time Veterinarian to join their amazing team! 

This Practice are looking for a compassionate DVM to be their new Acting Medical Director and Associate DVM with exceptional communication skills. They are committed to the highest standards of patient care and providing medicine and surgery in a unique, collaborative environment of compassionate and friendly professionals who care. They are passionate about providing the ideal work/life balance with excellent flexible work schedules and a vibrant work environment. They have both a full time and a part time position available. As a DVM and Designated Registrant for the Practice, the Acting Medical Director demonstrates an exemplary standard of medicine with patients while concurrently providing medical leadership to the Practice.  This DVM will be largely responsible for clinical work with approximately 5 - 10% of time focused on Medical Director responsibilities. As a senior member of the practice management team, the Acting Medical Director combines clinical expertise, a  dedication to veterinary code of ethics and regulatory standards, solution-driven expertise, emotional intelligence and utilizes a servant leadership mindset to promote excellence in veterinary medicine.

Position Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an educational institute accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, or equivalent/comparable veterinary degree with eligibility to obtain a full licence to practice in the province of work..
  • 5+ years of experience as a DVM, and 2+ years in a leadership and/or a supervisory role, which may include practice management, regulatory/policy, finance or quality management.
  • Proficiency in internal medicine, diagnostics, and preventive care. General surgery and general dentistry is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience developing and implementing standards, procedures and structures to support high quality care and best in class experiences.
  • Proven leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
