Job Details: This practice is seeking a full-time Veterinarian to join their amazing team! 

This Veterinary Hospital located in Peterborough, Ontario is seeking a full-time experienced Veterinarian to join their team of highly engaged veterinary professionals.  Over and above your primary Veterinarian responsibilities, your secondary responsibility will be providing Medical Director leadership for the Hospital. The ideal candidate for the Medical Director position will be confident and excited about building a strong team that aligns with their values.  You see your team as an integral part of the broader team and you focus on taking the time to know each member, knowing that each person requires a tailored approach when it comes to learning, performance and attaining set out goals. 

 Key attributes and Responsibilities:

  • Provide veterinary medical care for regular and urgent care appointments
  • Oversees surgical and medical cases for veterinary doctors ensuring positive outcomes and accurate estimates
  • Review and enhance protocols when required according to regulatory requirements
  • Working in partnership with the management team you will direct and foster the veterinary staff to deliver exceptional client experience and excellence in veterinary care
  • Review and enhance protocols when required according to regulatory requirements
  • Create a culture of “teamwork” and “exceptional client service”
  • In partnership with hospital manager and leadership, review financial performance and general operations for areas that require improvement, and also to celebrate goals achieved monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Participate in recruiting of qualified Veterinarians; externships, referrals, attending career fairs and hiring summer DVM students
