Type of Work: Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Details: Our Client are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. The successful person will assist the Veterinary Surgeon with the day-to-day running of a busy Veterinary practice and have great clinical exposure during their varied working day.

The current rota is 4 days one week, and 4.5 the next, working a 39 hour week. Saturday morning requirements are 2:6 and work over the hours of 8:30am-1:30pm. There are no Out of Hours for this position.

This is a stunning new-build practice on the Kent coast with up-to-date facilities which include ultrasound, 2 x capnography, dental x-rays etc. The nurses have their own consult room from which they run successful nurse clinics. The practice is close to the highspeed link to London and the Channel Tunnel is right on the doorstep. The best of both worlds, they are also close to the sea and the North Downs.

The practice team includes 4 Veterinary Surgeons with 26 years experience between them (3.25 FTE), 7 nurses, 6 of which are RVNs and 1 SVN - all are passionate about their work, have a wealth of experience, and run their own consults. There are 4 receptionists (3 of them have been there forever), they know most of the clients and have a great rapport with them. Then there's the two fantastic practice managers, who are happy to arrange referrals, fill out insurance forms, and generally make your life as easy as they can.

Our Client has peripatetic vets who come into the practice for orthopaedics and heart problems. Prior to the pandemic, they had an annual open day with lots of cake, games, raffles (did I mention cake?). March 2020 would have been their 10 year anniversary and they had lots of fun plans, but they are now hoping for a celebration in 2022. Our client use these events to support Battersea, along with running cake sales (yep, cake again - do you see a pattern?) and their ever-popular 'purple poppies' in November. They also used to regularly visit local schools, brownies, beavers etc to talk about their job and looking after pets - hopefully they can get back to this soon!

Skills and Requirements: Our Client are open to all levels of experience due to being able to support all applicants. However, you must be a qualified RVN. Our Client ask that you have a committed approach to your work accompanied by a positive can-do attitude. You must be a great communicator and team player with an excellent bedside manner.
