Type of Work: Registered Veterinary Nurse
Job Details: Our Client are looking for a Senior/Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their growing team. This is a first opinion small animal practice, consisting of 4 Vets, 3 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 kennel assistants and 4 receptionists.
It is an RCVS Accredited practice, and ISFM Cat Friendly. Our clients main priorities are patient care and colleague care, so they're not afraid to block off appointment slots and routine operations to ensure that patients and colleagues are cared for properly.
Our Client are striving to establish a passionate team, all working towards the same goals of patient care and offering a wide range of medical and surgical options. Their nurses have varied roles, between theatre, kennels, and consults, but do try to accommodate for where people’s passions lie, and actively encourage further training and development.
They have some lovely new equipment in practice, including microscope, diathermy (with monopolar and bipolar capabilities), and hand held dental x-ray, and are looking to upgrade their current ultrasound machine, orthopaedic kits and in house urine analysis. They have the latest Idexx analysers, including haematology, biochemistry and Snap test machines, and encourage nurses to perform in house cytology too.
The position is full time, Monday – Friday between 8am-7.30pm, and a 1 in 3 weekend with time off in lieu. There is no Out of Hours requirements as this is covered by a local OOH service provider.
Our Client do provide the usual ‘pizza lunches’ etc. for when they want to celebrate something, but would rather show their appreciation with a fair and competitive salary, open discussions and job satisfaction.
Skills and Requirements: As a Senior Nurse, our client would like someone who is able to work independently as well as part of a close knit team. The Senior Nurse would be working closely with the Head Nurse, to ensure everything runs smoothly, and will have additional responsibilities such as covering the Head Nurse’s role whilst she is on holiday, being in charge of the dosimetry readings and assisting with the Practice Standards Scheme. The final list of responsibilities will be dependant on the person and agreed with the Head Nurse. Newly qualified nurses are also welcome to apply.
