Type of Work: Full-Time Veterinary Surgeon

Job Details:

They have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team. East Lothian is a great place to be, located close to Edinburgh, it also boasts beautiful beaches, and to the south lies the stunning Lammermuir hills.

They are a busy small animal practice providing the ideal opportunity to use your veterinary skills to the full. They are a great, friendly, social team of vets, nurses, and support employees. Their practice has a full range of surgical and medical facilities, and they are also a Veterinary Nursing training practice. Their main site is an RCVS Practice Standards Scheme Accredited Small Animal Practice.

What are they looking for?

They are looking for a team player, ideally with at least 1-2 years experience. Someone who likes to join their social events as well as engaging with clients. They are looking for a good communicator who has empathy with clients and their pets, and a passion to extend their range of experience, alongside their like-minded team. They play an active role in the local community and have great pride in the amount of positive client feedback that they receive.

Consultations are a mix of 15 and 20 minutes, though longer consultations are booked when needed. Their main site was recently upgraded to accommodate 3 consulting rooms in addition to their spacious surgical suite with everything you would expect including both dental and digital radiography.

The Rota

Your work-life balance is important to us. Even though they would ask you to work alternate Saturday mornings (for 4 hours) this is offset by a 4-day working week of 36 hours. There is no on-call duty, though on occasion we will keep a stable in-patient.

Personal development is actively encouraged, and the practice is willing to support specialist areas of interest or help broaden your depth of knowledge. Equally, mentoring support is available for those who have recently graduated both through the RCVS VetGDP scheme and VetPartners Graduate Development program.
