Job Details: Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated veterinary Surgeon to join their team. They are happy to accommodate specific interests, e.g. some vets perform more surgery and others more consultations, other vets prefer to be out on the road more.

The vets work together to decide on where they would like to focus their attention. They are blessed with lovely clients, and a lovely team. They focus on quality of care rather than quantity. 15 minute consults. CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery, video endoscopy, (training/CPD in all if interested) and loads of support from a very experienced team. They have 7 vets, some part time and some full time. These include an endoscopy and a CertAVP certificate holder. The team is also comprised of 5 RVNs and several support staff plus a practice manager. They view their practice as happy, relaxed and welcoming. They all love what they do and feel privileged to be trusted with the care of the Islanders' pets. The team cares, listens and supports each other working together to help provide the very best of customer care.

The practice has a very strong focus on looking after each other and ensuring a good work:life balance. They look after their team very well, ensuring team members finish on time and have ample time off to enjoy all the Island has to offer, including surfing ,sailing, walking, cycling, foraging, etc. The Island is a very safe place to be both during Covid 19 and more normal times. The team are integral in helping them continue to strive to be the best for their clients and patients and they focus on championing good mental and physical health; whilst maintaining awareness of the importance of family commitments to staff with children. In addition and looking ahead there are significant prospects for the right vet to become a more integral part of the business in a directors role.

The team is a friendly bunch, hoping to form lasting and genuine partnerships with all clients and pets. They endeavour to approach every conversation with openness, warmth and honesty. Doing the right thing is fundamentally important to them they work hard to keep their training and development up to date and they invest in the best equipment.

The Island offers easy access to London by train. Beautiful coastal scenery with several excellent restaurants and pubs which the team often samples during their regular social events! They support local charities and take their wider responsibilities seriously, recycling everything they can and actively reducing waste. They are also proud to be a water refill station and they love their insects too, as a Bee-Friendly practice.   • The position is full time, working 4 full days 8.30am to 5.30pm plus one half day a week.

  • All veterinary surgeons have the opportunity to consult, perform medical work ups & surgeries and spend time on the road with a nurse on different days.

Preferably you will have experience as a veterinary surgeon in clinical practice. They would welcome candidates that are happy to work flexibly in a team environment and who are keen to enhance their skillset with additional CPD, including endoscopic surgery and advanced diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and ultrasound.
