Type of Work: Small Animal Vet Surgeon

Job Details: Our client is looking for a graduate veterinary surgeon to join their team. They are growing and they hope you are looking for an opportunity to grow with them! They offer a great work/life balance to their colleagues- they will actually shoo you out of the door so you leave on time, rather than ask you to stay past your shift end! Of course, emergencies happen, but they manage their diary very well and having their own out of hours team to hand over to means that you can pretty much always leave on time- unless there’s a really interesting case going on and you want to stay!

Don’t get them wrong, they are a busy practice. The days just fly by here- you never have the chance to get bored! They totally get that this isn’t for everyone, but if you thrive on being busy and learning every single day. They heavily manage the diary so the team isn't overworked or stressed- they always have same-day appointments available for the pets that need to be seen urgently. We've even stopped new client registrations for over a year to ensure this.

Being the best is important to them and they hope this is something that resonates with you. Not only are they an RCVS accredited hospital, but they have also been rated “Outstanding” in all six areas by the RCVS in their Practice Standards Scheme.

For new grads or vets with up to one year’s experience you would be enrolled onto a New Graduate Scheme where you will have access to 180 hours’ of CPD (normally monthly attendance CPD). You will have support from day 1 from your dedicated mentor in practice who will guide you through each step of your professional development, you will train on the job with a phased induction, at a pace that works for you, with regular reviews. They find this programme to be invaluable to their new grads, and combined with the excellent support in practice, it really is a great place to start your career! They must be doing something right as they have two other vets who joined them as new grads who are still with them 3 and 4 years since they qualified!

By joining this awesome team you will be working alongside 11 Vets 10 RVN’s, 3 SVN’s, 7 VCA’s, 9 Client Care Advisors, a Client Service Manager and 1 Practice Manager. They also have medicine and surgical certificate holders and advanced practitioners on the team. They hold regular clinical meetings, discuss protocols and run an open and honest culture encouraging development, change and support for their colleagues.

Above all else, they value someone who is a team player; committed to their patients and clients; and is keen to be a part of their amazing team!
