Type of Work: Small Animal Vet Surgeon, Casual contract. 

Job Details: You will have the opportunity to engage with Specialist and Referral Clinicians in our clients Imaging, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Neurology departments, whilst working in the Specialist-led Emergency and Critical Care team. Emergency and critical care assessment, procedures and patient management will provide you with a foundation of highly transferrable skills and experience. This opportunity is available to an enthusiastic Veterinarian with strong clinical skills and a real interest in emergency medicine. This role would be perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced exciting environment with like-minded people. The successful applicant will be expected to work as required, which would include shift work, weekends and public holidays on a rotational roster. An opportunity also exists to provide annual leave cover from time to time which will equate to up to 4 -5 weeks at a time for up to full time hours.

About you:

You are a compassionate Veterinarian professional who values clinical freedom and enjoys working in a national supportive network of industry leaders.

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Current Veterinary Registration in a nationally recognised state of Australia
  • Ability to obtain user’s License for Ionising Radiation in Victoria
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Veterinarian with a demonstrable interest and at least one year’s experience in emergency medicine
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently and be committed to providing optimal patient care and timely reporting on treatment progress
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills

​Must be registered or be eligible for veterinary registration in Australia.
