There is no sole charge in this role but due to the fast-paced environment some prior experience would be helpful. The ideal candidate would enjoy working in a busy hospital environment seeing an interesting and diverse caseload. You would be predominantly triaging emergency consults and there will also be the opportunity to perform emergency procedures in the afternoon. Typical caseload includes vomiting, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, wounds, unstable diabetics, anaemia, dystocia, haemoabdomen. They are ideally looking for someone to work alternate Saturdays from 8.30-5.30 and alternate Sundays from 9-5. There is a degree of flexibility with these times. They would be happy to consider 2 people job-sharing these shifts and may also be able to offer some weekday shifts if desired. The role is at their RCVS accredited small animal hospital based in lovely North Leeds. They are well equipped with CT, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, multiparameter monitoring, ventilator and separate species wards. They have staff on site 24 hours a day and provide an emergency service for their own clients and those of their local member practices including their 2 branch practices. The main strength is their amazing team of highly qualified and skilled individuals. They have certificate holders in surgery, medicine, ECC and exotics and they pride themselves on delivering an outstanding level of patient care and customer service. They have an open dialogue about mental health and all work to contribute towards a lovely and supportive workplace. They are situated in lovely north Leeds, within easy reach of Leeds, Harrogate and York. It is also easy to escape to the countryside with the beautiful Yorkshire Dales close by. They are a large,but close-knit team. They have certificate holders in surgery, medicine, ECC and exotics and see a mix of first opinion and referral work at their hospital. This provides a really interesting and diverse caseload. They are looking for someone who thrives on working within a team - they love discussing cases and working collaboratively. As Covid restrictions lift they have enjoyed seeing each other outside of work. They recently had a summer BBQ and some of the team took part in a charity dragon boat race.Applicant Requirements.
