Type of Work: Small Animal Vet Surgeon
Job Details: Our client is looking for an enthusiastic vet looking to join a small, happy, friendly team of people who love their jobs? They are looking for an additional vet to help with their growing workload so we’re happy to consider regular or ad hoc part-days or full-days for a part-time or full-time role to suit. They really value their time outside of work - there is no out-of-hours or on-call commitment, they can offer a regular rota pattern with the same weekday(s) off each week, or ad hoc hours if preferred, and their weekend pattern is planned out for the year ahead. Time is scheduled through the day for lunch and administrative tasks, and consultations finish well before the end of their shifts so they can get home on time.
Screening across the full width and height of all consulting rooms plus a fully screened reception area has allowed safe, near-normal working throughout the pandemic, giving clients the service they expect with privacy for sensitive conversations and full awareness of their pet’s examination, treatment and care.
They love the satisfaction of offering great veterinary and client care and they are looking for someone who enjoys the profession as much as they do. The purpose-built, well-equipped and air-conditioned surgery is now eight years old. They are officially ‘cat friendly’ with the silver ISFM award and they have Practice Standards Scheme accreditation. They enjoy a great local reputation - they have lovely clients, many insured, who want the best for their pets.
They have colleagues working towards administrative, veterinary care assistant and veterinary nursing qualifications, together with their veterinary surgeons developing an ever greater skill set. With a team of 5 vets and 4 RVNs they can support a recent graduate as needed, with one-to-one surgical coaching, shadowing consultations and providing clinical advice/case discussion and regular mentoring. Recent graduates can also join the Vets4Pets Graduate Development Scheme which includes a comprehensive and well-structured two-year CPD programme. More experienced clinicians would be encouraged to develop their own interests and client following. They pay RCVS / VDS / BVA and ISFM memberships for their veterinary team. Salary negotiable commensurate with experience and skill set.
For applicants who aren’t familiar with this area, they are on an easy commuter route and within a 15 minute drive of Skipton and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, Haworth and Brontë country, or the Leeds/Bradford area - offering you a great choice of city living, historic small towns or rural village life.
Rota: Optional participation in weekend rota but opportunity of shifts on a 1 in 4, or 1 in 8 basis.
