Job Details: This clinic are seeking a mixed practice veterinarian to join their team. The large animal veterinary business currently employs 5 vets dedicated to production animals. Their large animal veterinary work is a great blend of beef, sheep and dairy with a strong emphasis on reproduction and disease investigations. The business has a large consultancy and advisory role working to educate producers. The clinic has onsite parasitology (with a full time parasitologist) and feed testing laboratories. These labs also enhance their more typical clinical beef, sheep and dairy veterinary work. They have three curved linear ultrasounds for cattle pregnancy testing. The companion animal and equine side of the business also employs 5 full time vet equivalents. They are well equipped with DR, IDEXX, ultrasound, two anaesthetic machines with monitoring equipment, fluid pumps and an IM3 dental machine and xray. The DR, IDEXX and ultrasound are also used extensively in the equine work, along with powerfloat.

The position would be ideal for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with good communication skills. The applicant would need to work as part of a dedicated, fun, supportive team consisting of over 30 employees. The successful applicant will receive individual mentoring from a Senior Vet and be well supported by all the team. Ideally you will have a couple of years’ mixed practice experience however soon-to-be graduates with a genuine interest in a truly mixed role should also apply.

Hamilton, in the Western District of Victoria, is a major hub of Australia’s livestock grazing industry boasting a vibrant regional community with first class schools and a large public hospital within close proximity to the coast, Grampians mountain ranges and wineries. An ideal location for a charming country life for a family, couple or singles! This is a full time position with a 1 in 4 after hour’s rotation with one vet on call from both clinics. Salary will be above award and commensurate with experience.
