Job Details: This great clinic are currently looking for another veterinarian to join their team of 7 veterinarians. The position is available for a veterinarian with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Excellent communication skills, a high customer and patient focus and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential. Applicants that have achieved MANZCVS memberships, Post Graduate Masters or Certificates would be highly desired. This team is currently made up of seven veterinarians who have special interests across all areas of veterinary science. They have a large team of experienced nursing staff for support, assistance and care of our patients. The team work autonomously but also with the support of each other in a team environment.  The purpose-built veterinary hospital is set up with multiple surgical theatres, laboratory, separate dog and cat wards and fully equipped for the veterinarian to be able to work up simple through to complex cases and provide exceptional patient care. 

Some of the equipment includes; 

  • CT Scanner. 
  • Rigid and Flexible Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, Arthroscopy. 
  • Fluoroscopy. 
  • Ultrasound, 
  • Digital X-ray. 
  • IM3 Dental Xray. 
  • Full in-house IDEXX laboratory. 
  • Valleylab Electrocautery, Cryotherapy, Ventilators, Multi Parameter Patient Monitoring with Capnography, Dopplers, Patient Warming Devices, Tonometry. 
  • Vast array of surgical equipment for both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Practice high standards of veterinary medicine. 
  • Communicate effectively among the team and have an excellent rapport with the clientele.  
  • Contribute to healthy educated debate with your colleagues. 
  • Mentor and offer advice to other veterinarians within the team. 
  • Work within a flexible roster with a 4 day regular week and a weekend rotation every 3 weeks shared among 7 veterinarians. 
  • The ability and opportunity to follow up your own cases. All work is shared amongst the veterinarians with designated consultation and surgery days.  
  • The applicant should have the ability to do most routine soft tissue surgery. Experience in orthopaedics would be helpful although not essential. The practice sees a large case load of orthopaedics so there is an opportunity to advance your skills in this area if you wish.
